Our Mission
LSMGA supports its membership in the practical joys and benefits of volunteering for their community.
About Us
The Lake Superior Master Gardener Association was formed in 1998. Approximately 25% of the members are from the Duluth, Minnesota area. Lake Superior MGVs work with school classes, plant and maintain many public flower beds and help with a demonstration garden at the Douglas Co. Fairgrounds.
The Lake Superior Master Gardener Association is affiliated with the Wisconsin Master Gardener Association (WIMGA) based in Madison, Wisconsin. Our group currently consists of over 40 master gardeners in the Twin Ports area. We volunteer our services and knowledge to many organizations ranging from schools to non-profits, as well as members of our communities of Superior and Duluth.
Members of the association also benefit by our affiliation to the Duluth Garden and Flower Society (DGFS) of Duluth, Minnesota. We are privy to a range of activities from gardening workshops to bus trips headed to garden centers in search of unusual plants. We take pride in our gardens and communities.
